I am racking my brain trying to find a 36 inch L X 15 inch W bowed one piece black hood/top with access flap and lights. I have a 50 gallon bowed aquarium and cannot find one that will fit my size tank. Any suggestions?

This is probably the same. Mine was a 46G bowfront too.

Usually get a different light not a stock light as most plants need more light than a stock light puts out.

Also, as a side note some locally owned/run fish stores have or sell used tanks and have a spare pieces section much cheaper usually. Or post on a local FB or CL asking if anyone has one to sell.

Hey Autumnsky, what I’m actually looking for is a one piece BLACK hood for my tank. They have them for all other sized tanks but not the 46 bow.

The black hood is the same for a rectangle tank as for a bowfront tank. (unless you are talking about the ginormous type which covers the entire top!)

But are you looking for a light for a planted tank? If you would want a planted tank there are some slim lights which would be similarly priced as the hood. Almost no one uses a hood with a planted tank because the lighting is below what most plants would need to thrive.

Here is an example...
**a note about the light bars... the one below has legs which stretch to the 36" width. BUT the light bar is 24" wide.

So the 36-48" size would be better because you would then have a 36" wide light bar (with legs that can stretch to 48") with more lights and power. These have a remote which you can adjust high to low light options!
I have a number of these type lights.

Ah, I think the full cover hoods go up to 36" Aqueon and Marineland show glass top with light hood sitting on top back
