What are the sweeper tentacles that come out of my LR when the lights go out??

When I hit them with the flashlight they go back in.

Thanks,
Rich

I was just about to post the same question.. hmm what are the odds of that 8O

spagetti worms most likely. there are a bunch of refrences and photos of these in the indentification section.

from what I hear they are harmless

What do you mean, can you describe them better- is a pic possible?...do they look like worms? What color? Possibly mini-serpent stars, or polychaete worms? Both are beneficial FWIW

I've not seen the spaghetti worm tentacles retract with light. They also seem to be out all the time...day or night.

Maybe they are starfish arms. They don't like light much.

The spaghetti worm tentacles are numerous and extremely fine and long. The starfish arms are generally shorter and more substantial. Starfish arms come in all kinds of textures and colours.

I will try to get a pic tonight and post it. The tentacles go about 6-8in in length and are transparent. They look like if you have something slimy between your fingers and spread them apart, all the little stringy things.

Thats my analogy and i'm stickin to it :D

Thanks,
Rich
