HOB filter

I'm setting up my 20 gallon FOWLR this weekend and have a filter question. I'm going to have a skimmer and from what I have read, most people say you don't really need a hob filter but I figure more is better so what size hob would you recommend ?

A HOB filter that is rated for the size tank you are setting up would work. In terms of a skimmer, I wouldn't bother with one on a tank under 40 gallons or on a FOWLR setup.

You can just use a skimmer for that size a tank.

You can just use a skimmer for that size a tank.

You could, but being straight cost effective a HOB filter is much cheaper than a HOB skimmer. It could help things, but isn't necessary on a small FOWLR system.
