How do i turn my trickle filter into a sump??

I have a trickle filter an was wondering how to change it into a sump or should I even do that?

Actually those trickle filters make an excellent sump because they are thicker glass than your average tank. Converting them is a lot of work however. You have to remove all the insides, then place ballasts as desired per a regular pump. Most of them have bulkhead openings built in, so you can even run an external return pump if you desire. HTH
