How do you all clean the sumps if they are on the floor?

I have a layer of stuff ?ditrus? that has collected on the floor of my sump. Whenever I add water it stirs it all up and messed up the water column. How can I get this stuff out of the tank? Im thinking of making a stand for the sump to sit on so I can suction it out later on down the road.

Any ideas?

wears the sump at now...is it under the tank? either way...you could just use a python hose or make your own and do it that way

I siphon it out of mine and its under my tank. I get enough siphon to get most of it.. My frined says he uses his wet/dry vac.

wait...doesnt a python work even if the ting is down at the ground?

Python is the way to go if you have or can borrow one.
