How Long to Leave Carbon After Med Treatment?

I treated my hospital tank last week with Triple Sulfa because I had some really sick gouramis. After the treatment was over I put carbon in the filter and did a pwc.

How long should I leave the carbon in for? What are typical next steps after med treatment?

I've always assumed that it would clear meds fairly quickly within a week. Which works out nicely on my water change and tank cleaning schedule.
