3 fish is a fairly standard number for a tank that size. Most people choose a pair of clowns and a type of goby such as a firefish.

I have a 20, and the following:
- 2 clowns
- 1 hi-fin goby
- 1 pistol shrimp
- 1 cleaner shrimp
- 2 snails
- 2 featherdusters

What about a clown a ras and a mandrain goby

I take it this is a new tank your tank needs to be mature for a mandarin anywhere from 6 months to a year along with extremely stable water parameters

A 20 wouldn't be able to support a mandarin's picky eating habits. Def not a starter fish. Even in my own hindsight, I wouldn't have put one in my 55 with how much money I've spent on pods.

OK thanks for the help would not have know

You could do a scooter blenny. I've had one a little under a year.
