They are as prolific as convicts when it comes to breeding.I would advise a fast swimming target fish to avert the males attention from the female somewhat or she could get a lot of unnecessary attention.They lay a lot of eggs possibly up to 1000 !!!!!
Depends on if the fry remain in the tank and if your male and female pair up.If they pair up the fry will survive.If you remove the fry they will breed again very quickly possibly within a week or so.Your gonna need a tank of roughly 75 g for a pair or you could find the female being killed off.
