My angel's anal fin is a little jagged. I used to have spotted green puffers (didn't know about fin nipping - rehomed already) they're fins were nearly GONE (Walmart - long story) they told me it was fin nips by their tank mates. I personally NEVER saw the GSPs nip. Unless it was after the lights went out. The fins of both of the puffers were almost fully healed when returned. Fins haven't gotten worse on my angel or better - but then again it's only been two days.
There is also a small nip on another angel's fin. As well as my red tailed shark. My shark, however, always swam by the puffers so it wouldn't be surprising if they DID nip him. That was a week ago and that one has been healing even when the puffers were in the tank.
I just want to be sure. They are the only affected fish.

Could it also be ammonia burns? Ammonia in my tank is .50. I've been working to bring it down.
Thanks!

I am wondering this too. One of my 7 Bettas has a real problem with his fins. He came to me with them nipped off in shipping and they grew back and I went out of town for 6 weeks and I came back and they are messed up again. Hope someone replies!

I don't see any visual signs of fin rot or ammonia burn from those pictures, looks simply looks like someone nipping.
