That's good for prevention and all, but when it's introduced with a new fish, a uv sterilizer won't do anything...
Agreed, if ick is already present it's latched to the substrate and any tank inhabitants it's infected so the UV will only work if the parasite happens to get caught through the filter but you would need ALL of them to pass through. When it's in it's microscopic stages it will be eliminated by the UV since it hasn't established. I know most say that a good WC regimen should counter the necessity for a UV but if you have the money then I think it's certainly an excellent supplement.
