This guy was wild caught in the Ashley river just outside Charleston, SC. I have taken ghost shrimp (Palaemonetes) from the same place, but this is more than three times as long as the largest adult I've ever seen, and probably more than ten times the weight. Superficially it looks more like a prawn, but it was found in completely fresh water, and has been doing well in a tank without salt for several weeks, including moulting once. Anyone recognize the species?
