Starting to set up an African Cichlid tank for my girl friend and this is the reading of her tap waters ph with API master test kit, high ph test (the scale to the left of the tube) what do you guys think?

Mine comes out that color too, I THINK it's 8.4 but I'm not sure...

i would go with 8.4 as well.... 8.6 looks to be a deeper purple
