I recently noticed what appears to be a second ricordea mushroom that looks like it resulted from laceration, the way in which some mushrooms divide. Recently, it seems to have divided what might be thought of as an umbilical cord, the tissue that it stemmed from. It is now free living in my 3G reef, right next to its parent.
The most interesting part is that it seems to be GREEN, as opposed to the bright ORANGE of its parent. Is this possible? It is tiny, maybe only three tiny tentacles so far. Please tell me what you think. Thanks!
