In what? A bio cube? What tank. In my bio cube I took my bio balls and have them to my cat.

You don't new them IMO. If not cleaned they are a breeding ground for nitrAtes. I'd 86 them and add live rock rubble IMHO.

They do very little. They're only used in tanks with little to no live rock. Rey only house bacteria that break ammonia into eventually nitrate. Which grows on everything.
