Wow, I'd definitely do tests on your tap water to see exactly what the readings for each are. If nitrates are that high from the tap you may need to cut it with RO water or something, or get a lot of live plants. Just remember if you start using all RO/RODI water you're going to need to reconstitute it with minerals like RO Rite or Seachem Replenish.

I hope your fish gets better.

Tap Water

My Tap water results from API Master Kit:
pH = 8.5 (If I let it sit overnight it will drop to 7.8.)
Amm = .5
Nitrite = 2
Nitrate = 5-10

Thanks for all of the reply's! :)

Those are your tap water results!!!

Your tap water is not safe for you, or IMO, your fish. I would not want any nitrite in my water or nitrates. That could be your problem on why your nitrates are so high, all this excess ammonia and nitrites being converted into nitrates, which are already plentiful.

Yea, I'm not sure what to do at this point.
I did add one of those PUR water filters to my kitchen sink (for drinking only) and it didn't seem to make the water any safer.
Still detected Amm, ite's & ate's. :rolleyes:
