Is this a sponge

Is this some kind of sponge? It came in on the live rock and has now survived 6 weeks of hypo. Don't know much about sponges but wouldn't think what ever it is would survive hypo and no lights

Don't think its a mushroom. It's pretty hard to the touch and I don't think mushrooms would survive hypo
 
Ahh that's it, it's actually a agglutinated forarm. At first I didn't think this was right because my initial reading said they are microscopic single celled organisms but as I read further it showed that they can form structures like the one in my pic. It would also appear that there is Some sort of common link between them and sponges because they are most commonly found in places where there is a high concentration of sponges. Thanks for the help
