i have 4 jewels,and 3 breed a lot(about once a month). the 3 are a male and 2 females,he goes back and forth. im almost certain the shaking is courting, the second female to start breeding did that a lot. i have always left the eggs in,and they've always made it to fry. yes,even there first try. they are great parents. but the fry arent very smart,and wander out of the parents "forcefield"(no other fish will go near them when there breeding) and get eaten. good luck with yours. and bob mccoy,10 gallons is WAY too small for jewels, id say 40 gallon minimum,and even thats on the small side(but without other fish,you could probably have more than 1 pair)
