I'm pretty sure my angelfish is preggo and tonight I caught her and my other angelfish "kissing" and I wasn't sure if they were fighting or if they were mating?

Any ideas?

Pregnant isn't exactly the correct term :) . Cichlids tend to engage in that behavior quite often. In most cases, it's to establish who is dominant. It could also be a sign that one is erm, mature however, it doesn't necessarily indicate spawning in the near future.

A better way of knowing is when they become inseparable and begin "cleaning", "inspecting" or guarding a specific location.

Well, one of my angelfish has a very large belly (like she swallowed a marble) and so when I noticed the unusual behavior I wasn't sure if it was them establishing dominance or if it was related to her fat belly =o)

Thank you for the information =o)
