Do we know what this red nuisance stuff is?

It's got small tight leaves and is thriving in many places in my 50l tank

Interested too, I have it growing in places in my tank also. I try and pick it out, it only grows around my clove polyps...

Mr_X saves the day again.

I think I've found two species and both are seen to be undesirable in an aquarium

Thanks for the link

my fish enjoy the red macros the biggest thing is keeping them groomed so they don't over take the tank
I actually like having them in my tank

I was going to take a picture and post this up when I got home from work. I researched it and the stuff I have is Red Bulb Alga. It looks nice and keeps growing and then gets cut off from the flow then it goes away and grows again. I have a piece in the slit of my overflow box I will snap a shot of the full piece that flew off and the new piece growing. It grows out 2 spots on a small rock where my 1 mushroom detached .
