Youtube is blocked at work but if you go to youtube and search animalchin44 you'll find my vids and one is called lion fish. Its Louie swimming around for a minute. Feel free to check it out, its crappy ipod video but someone else asked to see him a while ago...

I cant remember if I posted this but the key for my guy eating frozen krill was the transparent feeding stick. Its' like $2 at the lfs. The fish cant see it, when I used a wooden skewer he could see the stick and would run away. When he couldn't see it he just thought the krill was swimming...

That was the turning point for me.

BOOM! I just went to my lps and bought 20 ghost shrimp, i tossed 3 in the tank and Ratchet (my lionfish) went crazy! there's only 1 ghost shrimp left of the 3! Im sooooo happy! After 8 days my lionfish is eating!!!!!!!

he'll probably just eat what he's used to and you'll have to train him onto other foods

Its a lot of effort but some suggest you feed your feeders right before you feed them to your lionfish so that they have a belly full of undigested nutrients. I'd feed my minows as much mysis as they could eat before dropping them in the tank. One last meal sorta thing...lol

Glad he's eating though, i'd be pretty stressed out by day 8!

update guy's! It's been 3 day's since he started eating! I've giving 3 ghost shrimp's aday and i feed the ghosts mysis 30 minutes before feeding! Perfect setup for him breakfast and dinner! He's awesome!

Now, I'm not trying to burst any bubble, IMO you should start to replicate how they eat in the wild. It is very easy to feed them every day because they are like dogs and will beg for food. However, in reality they eat and then hide and digest for a day or two. Many in the hobby will not feed there lionfish for 3 days or so to replicate conditions in the wild. You, can do what you will with this info I just felt a moral obligation to give my 2 cents.

I feed mine the day after I see him hunting at night for my hermits

Here's mines...I feed him every 2/3 days he already knows when he's gonna eat n meets me ontop of his rock so I can feed him, cool dude..I call him Master Chang...LOL

Thanks, he's awesome...don't bother the other fishes, n when I tap or wave at the glass he spikes up like that, that's how I make him pose for the pics.

The smallest is a clown 1.5"-6"..he doesn't even look at them, he be chilling on the rocks watching out..

Wow he is amazing! Just had mine a few days, fed once so far on ghost shrimp and he got two out of the five that went in, my box fish eats them before they get to the bottom near him, should he be swimming looking for them?
