Live plant questions

Anyone ever tried the Nymphaea Lilly in their tank? I just bought one today for my 75 gallon tank. I dropped the bulb in the tank (instructions say not to bury it) and it is just floating on top the water. I have never used live plants before. Any advice for this plant? Any ideas how long it will take for it to sink and root? Package says it will be 3-5 inches within 20 days.

I have never had luck with the bulbs. Mine just rotted and fouled my water. It is a hit or miss. I like the plants they sell that are already growing. Hope your bulb. Grows for you.
