Live rock emergency!!

Does anyone know how long I can keep a live rock in the bag until I get some sea salt mixture to put in my tank....or can I put it in my freshwater tank in the meantime.My daughter bought it for me and the store closed before I could get some more salt for my tank.....

You could leave it over night most of it may die but it will grow back very quickly. Freshwater will just kill it even faster.

Also try to get as much of the water to drip off then just poor the water on it every like hour or so. If it came I paper wring it out into a cup or bucket and us that to soak the rock also.

Most definitely.......My last batch got cloudy with the gravel I put in....so I had to toss it....thanx again....

Made it to the pet store early this morning....wheew! Back in business..got a happy live rock now....

Live rock is left out of water for up to a week before it reaches your LFS.

What If you put it in the tank after an hour?

You could put it in salt water immediately, cloudy from sand dust, or not.
