Hi guys.
I have just noticed my rock is growing some pink spiky looking stuff. Just wondering if anyone knows what it is? Its only small at the moment but you can kind of see it in the photo i have attatched
Thanks.

Really hard to see but it almost looks like Pink Birdsnest...

The light purple/pinkish areas look like coralline algae to me, and the reddish areas look like cyanobacteria. Coralline algae can grow in a "spiky" or encrusting form, although most people don't have that variety/species in their tanks.

Ya my coraline varies from purple to neon pink but I never had it encrust like that.

You can see the difference of my colors in this pic.

Mine tends ti be a mix of dark, light pink and purple. Ive also got little bits of white stuff simular to the pink stuff in the photo i posted earlier but its very small.
Its just underneath it.
