I want to know if you can use any sand that you find in a hard ware store in my salt water tank because i cannot find any playsand

Don't use construction grade sand. It will contain heavy metals and possibly toxic chemicals. Playsand is sterile and safe. Odds are if your store carries bagged sand and cement, they should have playsand as well.
