Looking to Lower my Carbonate Hardness (Distilled Water)

I was just wondering if using distilled water during a pwc would reduce the amount of carbonate hardness. As of right now it is a whopping 17. Any suggestions would be appreciated.....

have you checked your PH? That is Very high and may be indicative of acid water. I don't think using distilled water would fix it.
