some people have luck training their otos to eat prepared food, but most of the time they only eat biofilm and algae. there is no way there would be enough in such a small tank. i wouldn't risk it just for your pleasure. 3 gallons is too small for an oto anyway, and your tank looks like a standard 2.5 if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure you could find someone on here to ship you some nerite snails :) i would, but i have only shipped during warm weather and don't have heat packs. its about -10 where i live
 
I always have that film stuff on the water and plenty of algae because it's near a window but I would never want take an animals life for my pleasure. I think I will buy a lid for the tank and than buy shrimp again. Will the lid stop the fluorescent light from getting in? I have live plants so I have to worry about that.
