Hello
I'm a newbie regarding fish keeping.
I've got a Fluval Edge 23L with a sand bottom. My problem is that the pressure from the water coming out of the filter digs a hole in the substrate because is so light, i've created a baffle with the water bottle to prevent that, but by doing so the debrie and the waste it getting stuck at the bottom.

Any sugestions on how to avoid the waste to get stuck at the bottom?
Any changes, tests, improvements?

Pictures to show.

Many thanks
Samuel Franco

Yep, sounds like a double edged sword. Is there anyway to direct the outflow toward the front of the tank, across the water surface ? that would create a circular front to back flow, help aerate the water, and hopefully keep the debris stirred up in a less aggressive manner.

Thanks for the help.
I haven't tried to direct to the front, it may work.
I've tried to direct it to one of the sides but with no effect. I will try to make it go foward somehow.

many thanks
