Yeah I'll have to play with it! My shaving brush is good. It's looking pretty green. I like it. :)

I also saw one of the two blue leg hermit that I put in just after he changed his shell.

Look into the wave point 12" on Amazon that's what I have in my 8 gallon! It's working great

I'm going across to Michigan to pick up the light this afternoon :) USA has way cheaper shipping than international and it only costs me $8 to go across to pick it up.

So I've ordered a couple zoanthid frags. I kinda got caught up in it and won two unknowns and have the highest bid (ends in 2H) on a VDM frag. There was also another I really wanted to bid on. I wasn't really thinking about the potential ammonia spoke it may have, and thinking more about the combined shipping deals lol. Do you think I'll be alright?

The VDM I have the highest bid on:

And the one I'd really like to bid on:

Yes I'm in ontario! I ordered these from colorful_reef on eBay. Just went with cheaper ones because of the weather and the fact that I'm a newbie when it comes to coral - these are my first

Where are you? Where do you get your frags from?

I lost the VDM cause I got stuck in Michigan and I didn't have wifi to increase my bid. Which is weird because it went for 7.24 and I had a maximum bid of 10.00!?

And I got the lights:

I like the light! You were probably bidding against me on eBay ?co didn't win either

Don't worry about an ammonia spike from corals, they have a pretty minimal affect on bioload. And if you really like the VDMs you could try emailing the seller, most vendors have multiple frags so I bet you could still get s frag. And IME 2-3 polyp frags handle shipping better than singles.

Nice zoas! The lights look good too, are they very bright? I'm thinking about buying this light for a custom cold water tank :)

Geeze NY! Hehe :)

Thanks Red - I was worried about it but I'll relax now... and order more ;)

Dingus - the lights are pretty darn bright. I'd recommend it for sure.

ALSO, one of the blue legs I got has eggs around her abdomen... I'm assuming she must have bred before she was caught and must be pretty far along. I've had her for a week and the person I got her from had her for a week and she got it from her supplier so I'm thinking another week there.

Here's the video I caught of her doing her twice daily shell change lol... I think she's looking for a bigger shell. I'm looking for some.

And here's a snap from the video:

And here's a picture I found online of a blue leg hermit crab with eggs:

Congrats :) do you know if they'll live, without a special quarantine? I have no idea but it'd be cool if you could have little hermits!

Well they're on their own in the 3G Pico right now but I'll be moving her over to a 1G and making a beach-like setup with a bit of water, an air stone and some piled high sand. Apparently they come out of the water to have their babies. This is just what I was told. I need to do some research on it.

They can survive but I need to find a variety of different shell sizes to support them through their growing lol.

I'm going to give them the best shot I can at least. :)

Added a nice big feather duster. I think these guys are pretty cool.

And on a side note all of the blue legs eggs are gone except for four. Caught her in a shell change and saw. Not sure what happened.

So I picked up two goodies at the LFS today. They've just started selling coral frags which is awesome because they're the only saltwater place in the sault unless you go through the private importers and you have to be pretty "in the know" for those.

But anyway - $14.99. No idea of the ID.

Sorry crappy iphone pictures. Will take better ones with my camera tomorrow!

Oh and also the zoa frag I bought from the LFS. Also $14.99. I know there's a couple different kinds in this one but not sure yet until they all open up. This was right after acclimation. Hopefully will have an update on them tomorrow :)
