So I'm new to all this, bare with me
So a plenum is an empty space under screening, creating a CO2 area under the substrate...
Has anyone ever tried just filling multiple pvc's with sand, and then laying them in the bottom of the substrate?
Wouldn't that cause a CO2 "chamber" sufficient enough comparable to a plenum, and allow for a shallower bed than a DSB?
I'm working with a bare bottom with fish in it, but I've heard bad things about both a plenum and a DSB...
And I do not have any sand sifters, and cannot add them with the fish I have.
MAYBE a violet goby...
