more on the dreaded red slime

I read today, that lowering the SG will help get rid of red slime. Also, that
red legged hermits are a big help...

Any thoughts on what else I can do to speed this along, it has been way long enough. Got the protein skimmer going, have cut back on feeding to the point I think I am starving my poor fish. Am doing water changes, have sucked up so much of the crap when vacuuming that now I have to consider adding more sand.

Red Slime

I know you have lots of actnic, but when I had this problem all I did was add one regular flourecent 03 and the slime died in a matter of a week.

There are also red slime removers out there. I freind of mine used one and he said it worked great. I cant recall the brand though. One drawback was it was expensive.
