Moving to a larger tank

Oringally I was going to be taking a 35 hexagon tank I was going to fill as a community with dwarf cichlids. But now my girl wants to buy me a bigger tank. Probrably ending up aroung 40 to 45 gallons. I trying to find longs in bother. My question is do I stick with dwarfs and add more or go with africans?

I'd go with the largest tank, no hex, and go for the Africans. The 35-45 will have largest foot print compared to the hex.
