Moving Tank 2
I have a 200g discus tank w/ wet/dry filtration that I need to move to another room in the basement. During this move I will also be changing out the substrate. The discus (12) will be split to 2 - 50g holding tanks along with the scavengers and dithers. The holding tanks will be filled with aged water from the 200g and whatever is left will go into a holding tank to be used to refill after the move with the rest made up of fresh RO. Since I am changing the substrate out, I will put old substrate in filter socks placed in the sump. I believe using the old tank water as well as the old substrate to prime the bio action I won't need to go through cycling paying close attention to water parameters for the first few weeks.
My biggest question is how long can a wet/dry go without water flow before its bio action goes bad? I'm planning on it being no more than two days.
