Muriatic acid?

So I got this tank on Craig's List and tried everything to get this white haze off the glass and nothing works...

Lemon juice
Vinegar
Vinegar and baking soda
Scrubbing
Razor blade

Heard of using muriatic acid, does anyone have any experience with this? I was thinking of trying to polish the glass with a metal polish and then cleaning and cleaning and cleaning and resealing and more cleaning.... Any thoughts or experience would be greatly appreciated!

Vinegar with a polishing pad on a drill or a buffer might work.

Buff lightly with Cerium Oxide. Could also try toothpaste (not gel). Buff it too hard and you could leave a rainbow effect in the glass.

I really do think it needs to be buffed out but now I'm scared I'll get an uneven finish...
