Hi I would just like to share my 1000 gal tank

8ft long 6ft wide 3ft deep with a 6x2x2 sump

Turn over 66,000 lph big sand filter 4 x 25w UV

24/7 water change that pumps in 200 gal of fresh water per day

1 x 28" chilli red Asian Arowana
1 x 25" tigrinus cat
1 x 24" dat pulcher
2 x 14" 3 bar indo dats
1 x 13" thin bar dat
4 x 12" twin tail tinfoils
3 x 18" disk p14 stingrays
1 x male bd stingray
1 x 16" disk female Leo/bd stingray

Yes it's true you can't have rays in FL along with most of the hot states in the US some other fish are also banned

I find if you have hiding places the fish use them and you never see them

Also other reasons like the rays need as much open floor space as possible

Tank decor also traps dirt affecting water conditions my saying is WE DON'T KEEP FISH WE KEEP WATER bad water = no fish

So, is it safe to go swimming with them? Like they won't bite at you, and you won't (for lack of better vocabulary) leach chemicals into the water? Ie:deodorant, after shave, soaps?

Yes swimming with them would be great but you need to remember like you said stuff on your body but the main thing you would need to drain 25% of the tank water or it will overflow

I don't never do water changes as if I did drain 25% the weirs pumps and sump would run dry

I have a over flow pipe in my sump so 200 gal per day pumps into the main tank and the waist drains from the overflow into the main drain

In 3 years since the tank has been set up I have not done one water change by hand

The rays kick up all the dirt so no need to gravel clean
