Started my 55 gallon tank today. Adding PFS and working at getting it filled. Filling it gallon by gallon and its taking forever.

Sand in.

So far it isnt very cloudy from the sand. Hoping to have my filter in and running tonight.

Looks good so far. I really like the look of the cabinet.

Me too. Before I picked it up and saw it in person, I was thinking of painting it black or just replacing it. But now that I have it, i really like it :)

All filled!

2 filters are running in it for now. A Tetra Whisper EX45 and a Tetra Whisper 20i, giving me 65 gallons of filtration. Going to buy a single filter within the week. Waiting for the tank to get to room temp before I add my heater so I dont overwork it. The water is currently at a little over 50*

I really cant believe how clear the water is! I expected it to be cloudy for a day or 2 from the sand.

You could run the EX45 with another bigger filter like an aquaclear 50 or 70 side by side.

Yeah, it doesn't take long to clear if you rinse well!

I'll probably keep the EX45 in there because its almost brand new and does a great job. As for the sand, I used a clear tote and rinsed it little by little until the water in the tote was crystal clear. Lovin' how it looks so far :)

What kind of fish are you going to have in there?

That is yet to be decided, lol. I wanna start it with some invertebrates (ghost or Red Cherry shrimp) or maybe Kuhli loaches. But after that, who knows, lol

Added what decorations and plants I had that weren't scattered between other tanks. Eventually I want a large piece of driftwood for the center and some live plants.
