My ammonia is high!! What sort of things will bring it down?

My ammonia is a 0.25 ppm. I read this is not safe and needs to be treated. Will vacuuming the gravel and treating the water with Prime help . Any advice is helpful.
 
Yep, water changes are 100% the best way to remove excess ammonia in the tank.

Okay thanks so people on my other new thread are saying my nitrates are high will water changes , vacuuming, and Prime help with Thant I have struggled with higher nitrates for almost a month now, so I put some plants in their too.
 
Best way to get rid of nitrates is to do partial water changes. Vacuuming your gravel will also help prevent higher nitrates (before the waste gets broken down in the nitrogen cycle)
