Yes, the males can harass the girls. I removed 2 apparent females from the big tank because apparent males would not stop pestering them. The girls spent several months in a 30 G tall tank. When the temperature dropped, I returned them to the main tank & all is well. I feed them goldfish flakes. I tried spinach & a few other vegetables in the past which were totally ignored. Would you suggest i try anything else? These guys always act like they haven’t been fed for ages when I pass their tank. They press their not so little faces next to the glass & beg worse than my dogs. I love their activity level & beauty. Some have much blue coloration.
