As hard as it might be to belive many get some pleasure and often find themselves relaxed after a period at the range shooting up some paper targets. Gun ranges have very strict rules and quite frankly are probably one of the safest places to be when there are guns around.
Very true on both points. I always have fun because of the challenges you can set for yourself. Not to mention that it is a useful skill to have (I know, in a perfect world there would be no guns, but this ain't no perfect world - deal with it).
I'd love to get my hands on one of those grenade launchers!!
Three years ago I went to a 4th of July party where one of the guys there was a gun smith. I don't know if it was the same model or not, but he had a grenade launcher (40mm, same as the H&
K). He was firing cuncussion grenades from it. Just a little white flash, but damn they were loud.
My 6 year old daughter hates guns. I would never force her to try to like them. But if I ask her about gun safety, the first thing she says is "Always treat a gun as if it's loaded. Never point a gun at something unless you want to kill it." etc. She can tell you where the muzzle, trigger, safety and clip release are with no problems. I had her fire my airsoft gun (plastic bb's for those who don't know) at a paper target a couple of times so she would understand that when a gun is pointed at something and the trigger is pulled,
something happens in the blink of an eye. Shortly thereafter she made the connection. I plan on continuing her "education" on the matter. Like or not, guns are out there and whether you like them or not, you should know how to use them. Just my opinion...
Oh yeah, how cool would it be to be one of these kids...
