That's not that bad actually. I have invested around 700$ on my 55G and i'm really not even done as far as livestock goes. Plus, in a couple months im going to try and put a sump back up. But other than that sump thing, i was done with the equipment for the tank lol. 700$ in just equipment.. was basically what it was. So i think you did pretty well, considering you already had some of those items from before.

I also dont have a skimmer (plus 60 bucks)

Alot of my equipment came used, so it was cheaper. Most of my money was spent on livestock.

where did u get your live rock from? or was that already stated?

You don't need a skimmer, a pwc will do the same thing on a 20g. Honestly, you haven't put that much into your tank. I have put almost twice that into my 20g high.

I'm not planning on a skimmer anytime soon :D

The lfs I work at has 4 large bins of live rock. Most of my stuff is Fijian, but there's a little bit of Haitian as well.

I counted up all my spare change laying around, and I had about 32 dollars...the perfect ammount to get a new KORALIA NANO!!!

This will give me more than twice the flow of my current maxijet 400, so im installing it right now and doing a water change. So far so good!!

WOW, that is so fabulous, I have a20 gal tank sitting around doing nothing, I would love to do something like that, maybe when I am done with my fish only tank I will ask where to start I have looked in this area of many tanks another comes to mind Zero's tank, so in awhile going to need all your help in doing a small tank, again just great!

I must say, your tank is looking quite amazing. How deep is your sandbed? Doesn't look that deep.. Just wondering is all.

Awesome! That one Ric is huge! I want one that big. :) And your Zoas are really growing on the frag rack. Can't wait for mine to grow.

Thanks! Depends on where you are in the tank, but it's usually about a half inch to an inch deep. I just used one, 20lb bag of live sand. If my work could still get in those 10 lb bags of sand I would prolly add more, but it works and looks fine now :D

haha thanks kristin! I never expected it to get that big...it needs to split already...lol

Between the rics (4), the plate, the blasto, and some other various mushrooms, that one area of the tank looks AMAZING under the LEDs...haha

good news too. I'm getting 4 or 5 new zoas from a fellow reefer, and I have room for some on the rocks!!! plus the rack...haaha

Oh it definitely looks amazing. I was just wondering how deep it was because in my next tank, i don't want to have any freakin snails to sift my sand, but i also don't want things to rot in my sandbed. So i've been trying to figure out what a good depth of sand would be where bad bacteria wouldn't grow, and i wouldn't need anything to sift it. Probably going to make a thread. But thanks for letting me know!

no problem :D but I still have 6 nassarias snails in there :D
