Need help identifying these small things in a planted dirt tub I was experimenting with. They're white and round and swim smoothly unlike daphnia that seems to hop around. They're all over the guppy grass. I had a Platty in there so I could avoid stuff like these and mosquitoes.

The closest thing I could compare them to was seed shrimp. Still not sure. I tried feeding one to my betta 3 times but she just spits it back out everytime.

Thanks. Copepods are what I saw first when I was looking for answers. But they swim differently. It matches how seed shrimps move but I can't find a good enough video to compare them. But anyways, I thought fish ate these guys? I put a platty in there to avoid these guys. Also I was thinking this might be a good treat for my bettas but they just spit them out :\

Hi. It would be great if it were but no sadly. I've kept daphnia before and fed them to my fish. They swim differently. I took this screenshot from a video on YouTube, the bigger one is the daphnia and the small round one in between them is what I have.

Sorry for the late response, I am thinking it could be freshwater limpets. I had them in my tank a few months ago, and they look like teeny tiny snails. They don't do any harm to the tank, other than the fact they breed so much. If anything, they eat some of the algae on the side of your tank, sort of like a snail would.

Those just crawl on the glass right? These guys swim. But thanks for that description cause I think I saw 2 of them on my main planted tank the other night. I was wondering if they're snails now looks like they are limpets. Should I remove them while I can?
