Aquarium Advice Newbie
I have a peanut-shaped preformed pond that was given to me by a neighbor. The circulation/waterfall pump died about 2 weeks ago. The pump is an older model that was purchased at Sears, but they don't have any record of the model number in their archives. I need a pump to replace it. The pond is 150-200 gal and the waterfall begins 3-4ft above the surface of the pond.
My previous setup had the pump at the bottom of the pond pumping water to the top of the waterfall and to a biofilter through a diverter/control valve. The biofilter was set up externally (actually under the waterfall so its out of view) and high enough that it was able to gravity-drain into the pond for circulation.
My biggest question is what size pump do I need to circulate the water and have good effects from the waterfall? Any recommended brands and/or websites would be helpful, too.
Much appreciated!!
