Just found out the filter was unplugged for 3-5 days accidentally. The filter was green with a black spot so I changed it. I changed 1/3 of the water and put API Stress coat on the new water, put API pH decrease in the water and increased the temperature by 3-5 degrees to bringing it to 80 degrees.

I'm going to have the water tested tomorrow and try to get some medicine for her.

The fish is struggling not to float to the top. She's resting on the thermometer. Wondering what else I can do? Do you think she has dropy? She definitely not bloated. I read about a salt bath and raising the temperature to 80. See pictures of her. She's swimming sideways and someone told me about Wasabi helps.
Please help.

That doesnt look like a very healthy betta. It doesnt even look like a betta. Is that what the fish normally looks like? Whats happened to its fins? Do you happen to have a "before" photo of the fish?

Get a water sample to test later and do 2 or 3 water changes a few hours apart. Buy a test kit, preferably a liquid test kit. It should test for pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. API Freshwater Master Test Kit is a good one to get hold of. Until you are able to test your water change 50% of the water a day.

Take a read through the "unhealthy fish" sticky and post as much detail as you are able.

A little Better

Hey Aiken

Thanks for responding. Here's an update.

She's a betta glo fish not a fancy one.

She can swim around now especially down to the bottom, which she couldn't before. I tested the water and it's good. But was only high in pH and higher than normal nitrite. It's all normal now.

She's much better when I showed the video to the pet store they said she was bloated. They told me not to feed her for a few days and give a pea. I'm going to feed her later today and change her water more.

Today she's still tilting backwards but she doesn't look bloated. She going to the spot we feed her.

I'm going to test the water

Here's how she looked Friday

You can see in this video she's swimming more normally.

Here's how she looked at first on Thursday

She couldn’t swim to the bottom because she kept floating to the top.

Thanks so much for your advice.

Please go through the sticky and give as much detail as possible. Actual numbers for water parameters if possible. Saying things like "good" mean nothing when we dont know what you consider good.

Things do look to be on the mend. Not feeding for a few days and then trying to feed a boiled, shelled pea is correct advice from your fish store.

But something still caused the issue, and carefully going through the sticky might help get to the cause.
