Aquarium Advice Apprentice
Hello, lately I've been working on cleaning my parents 55g tank which had fallen into somewhat disarray since I moved out a few years ago. There are over-feeding problems and the tank is not cleaned near enough.
Anyways when I was doing a water change the other day and trying to clean things up I noticed some very small thread like worms in the water. They were probably only 4-5mm long and kind of moved in a very fast "S" pattern, for lack of a better word.
I'm assuming that whatever these worms are, are a direct result of excess waste in the tank...is this correct? Is there anyway to get rid of these worms or will they eventually go away through regular maintenance? I was disgusted afterwards to learn that they may have gotten on my arm when it was in the tank *shudders*
I hope this is descriptive enough, I cant take a picture because they're difficult enough to see with the naked eye, theres no way I could take a picture of one.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
