I have a lot of little white flakes floating on the top of the water looks like little salt chunks but not sure is it good or bad.

how old is the tank and do you have a skimmer ?

The tank is probably 1 1/2 months old and no skimmer.

it could just be proteins starting to clump together i used to get this b4 my skimmer
