I'm headed down to Lancaster to That Fish Place today (got a 30% off coupon!). I have some questions before I make any addition purchases......
I put a piece of sponge on the end of my skimmer to stop micro bubbles from going in the tank. It's pretty effective, however, it seriously cut back my water flow in the tank. I've seen spraybars attached to skimmers. If I took the sponge off and attached the spray bar, this would give me my water flow back. But will it still shoot bubbles through the tank???
So, my dilema is....
choice #1 Do I buy the spray bar? OR
choice #2 Do I just keep the sponge on the skimmer and buy a maxi jet PH???
Question #2
If I do get the PH, it has an option to hook up a venturi injector to aerate along with the water flow. or not. If I hook it up with the aerator, won't this throw those "harmful micro bubbles" throughout the tank?? If I use the aerator, it cuts back the water flow. So I need to know if I'm going to use this feature in order to decide if I go with the 400 or 600 model. So my question is.....
Do I use the aeration feature on the PH or not???
One last question...
I'm looking into buying a refractometer. Is expensive the better option? I was looking online and the store has 2 listed. One was marked at over a hundred bucks and is on sale for $80. The other one is priced at $60. They seem to have the exact same features. They both have the ATC.
Soooooo.....
Is there really a difference between the two other than $20 out of my pocket???? (p.s. It's at www.thatpetplace.com if you want to check em out)
I'm heading out in about an hour, so if you have ANY input, please post it right away! Thanx!!
