Is this normal?
I've had a 126L tank set up for a couple months now and yesterday got my first fish.
At the moment I've got two assassin snails, 4 neon tetras, 2 male guppies and 4 female guppies.
It was apparent when I brought them home that all 4 females were pregnant and when I've checked in this morning one had started to give birth (spotted only 2 fry). By the time I got home today I expected to see nothing as they aren't being kept separate from the rest of the tank. However! I have counted 6 guppy fry hiding at the bottom of a plant (could be more) right in the corner being what looks like guarded by a neon tetra.
Is this normal? The tetra isn't bothering them at all, they are swimming around him. He won't leave the corner and only moves when another fish comes near. It's not being aggressive but clearly keeping a close watch!
