Nerite shell growing out weird

My nerite has been growing a lot but has recently slowed down significantly. It has also been being more dormant lately. Is this normal?

Also the shell has grown out funky. Is my snail okay? As you can see in the pictures there is a slight line separating the old and new shell that is caused by the older shell being a layer or two thicker it seems. The spotting is also fewer and further between which troubles me.

From what I understand snails grow shells in layers. It'll start out thin and gradually build up to match the old shell given they have plenty of calcium and a good diet. Cool looking snail.
