I just got two young angelfish today and have noticed that one doesn’t let its anal fin down like the other does. I’m not sure if it is normal for them to have fins like this or if it just hasn’t stretched it out yet; these are the first angels I have owned. Pictures are a little blurry, they were taken right after I left my lfs, the one with more white has normal looking dorsal and anal fins, the marble with more black has the anal fin in question. Hopefully I have explained my question well enough lol, not exactly sure how to word it. Thanks!

Here is another photo. It’s anal fin is horizontal with the body and doesn’t point out like the white angel’s does

Sadly, I suspect that you purchased a deformed fish. Shame on the place that sold this to you if I am correct.
I saw this trait on a number of fry when I was breeding Angels and it is a deformity. Even when the fry first start sprouting their dorsal and anal fins, they come out looking like your white colored fish's fins, not pointing backwards. I've seen this in Anal fins as well as Dorsal fins. It's a genetic fault.
If you choose to keep this fish and eventually breed it, I implore you to not breed this fish in order to keep this trait OUT of the genetic lines of Angelfish on the market.

Okay, I was thinking the same. I agree that it shouldn’t be bred. Thank you!
