Well, my rainbow shark is doing fine so far. I really like it. My new female con couldn't hack it in the 55 gallon. I checked on her this morning and her fins were obviously nipped. My original female is just ruthless! 
So I moved the new girl to the 30 long with the parrots, loaches, and shark and she seems ok. It's not an ideal situation as far as being overstocked, but at least no one is picking on her now.
And I went to the LPS to grab some dog food today, and of course I had to go back in the fish room since I hadn't been in a while. Oh man, it about killed me. They had blue Jack Dempseys, beautiful and healthy GBR's (blue and gold), keyholes, apistos, sajicas, and MULTIES, to name a few. 8O The selection was never that good when I was stocking my cichlid tanks! So I ended up with some plants for my betta tank... along with 4 pygmy corys for betta's tankmates. Somebody stop me!!!
