Aquarium Advice Regular
I have modified my previous design in light of understanding siphon backflow problems.
The drawing shows a return line from the pump with a multidirectional flow, the back siphon would be broken by small tube just under surface.
The overflow would function as normal, and the canister filter pulls from tubes with holes drilled just beneath the surface...
This solves the problem of a power outage creating a display-to-sump siphon but when the power fails and then comes back the canister filter will initially draw air from its empty intake tubes and possibly(?) break the canister filter motor...
any thoughts?
